In 2006 Mairehau held a special celebration, in light of it’s 50th anniversary. Members of the original establishment committee, as well as past pupils and staff were welcomed back to the kindergarten for afternoon tea, speeches and cake.
Mary Gourdie, a member of the establishment committee organised for many of the members to attend the anniversary. The photo below shows the members that attended in 2006, to help celebrate such a special milestone in Mairehau’s history.
One of the kindergarten’s longstanding kaiako, Sue, retires with a celebration, shared with whānau and tamariki.
Mairehau’s big backyard has long been the perfect spot for lunch with friends.
