This kindergarten joined Kidsfirst when the Central Otago Kindergarten Association became part of our Association.

We’re still digging through the cupboards and opening old boxes, talking to current and previous teachers and piecing together the story of our kindergarten. It’s not always easy to remember everything, or to find that photo album from years ago – but we’re looking, and loving what we’re finding.

When Cromwell Kindergarten joined Kidsfirst, the tamariki celebrated their new sign.

Times may change, but the smiles of tamariki are timeless. And nothing beats playing outdoors in the fresh air.

Nothing beats a good book at kindergarten, and, as you can see, not much has changed over the years!
Kindergartens love embracing the community they are a part of, Cromwell kindergarten loves their lakefront excursions.
Though the kindergarten’s big backyard has changed over the years, it’s still a hub of fun and activity for tamariki.
Tamariki and kaiako alike are proud of the kindergarten’s impressive garden.
No two mat times are the same, and tamariki love exploring their own interests.
Tactile and messy play is a common sight at kindergarten, and is still very popular these days.
Watching the cars go by is another fun activity to do at kindergarten – many members of the local community stop by to give a wave.
Cromwell kindergarten tamariki have had a lot of fantastic experiences, one of which was a visit from some kittens.
Kidsfirst Chief Executive, Sherryll Wilson, enjoys some music and a dance with tamariki in Cromwell.
Throughout the years, many people’s influence has shaped Cromwell kindergarten, and we’re still so grateful for all of the help we get.
The kindergarten’s amazing setting is still the perfect place for tamariki to start their educational journey, after all these years.
