Above is a photograph of some of our Bush St Kindergarten community as we celebrated Kidsfirst being 100 Years Young in 2011.
This would be evident in the following year, during the UNESCO Year of the Child in 1979. During this period several other cultural changes were underway, including a growing increase in the number of male teachers in our kindergartens.
Teaching our children to be kaitiaki of their environment is a great way to establish life-long skills, and a love of their space.
The best learning doesn’t always happen in the classroom…
